Birth Story : Daniel | Jacksonville Birth Photographer

Such a swift and sweet birth story! When Katie told me she was expecting her eighth baby with a history of fast labors, I knew it was going to be a situation where I would likely have to hop in the car as soon as I heard that contractions were starting! Katie ended up having labor induced, but I took no chances and made sure I got there when they began administering the Pitocin.

This was my first birth of the new year. I love when dads catch the baby and so when they told me that was the plan, I was so excited! Midwife Cindy of Full Circle Women’s Care was all about it! The whole day was a really beautiful experience for all involved. So much positivity and love in the air!

The Pitocin started working and it wasn’t long before Katie was a little over halfway dilated, and then within an hour, she was complete and it was time to push! With Cindy and Brandon in place, with her wonderful nurse, Joyce, at her side, she began to work with those contractions and bring her baby down. It wasn’t long before little Daniel made his appearance. I loved seeing the look on Brandon’s face as he caught his baby boy. What a precious moment this was! Getting these kinds of shots from the mama’s perspective is such a fun way to tell the story!

Daniel’s siblings were anxiously waiting to meet him and when they arrived, they were thrilled to welcome their baby brother! They had me laughing and smiling the whole time as I heard their comments about how cute he was and saw how sweetly and gently they touched him. Katie’s parents came soon after and were delighted to meet their newest grandson.

I loved being there for this family to document their birth story. It was one for the books!
